About Canyon Crest

Canyon Crest is a community made up of many neighborhoods in Mission Viejo, California. Residents are close to beach communities, while enjoying a country club type lifestyle.

Canyon Crest is comprised of mainly two story homes with larger than average lots. Amenities include two swimming pools, a large spa, fitness center, basketball courts, four tennis courts, and handball courts as well as picnic and barbecue areas. There is also a building for special events and meetings.

Several private school options are available with institutions like Sunflower Montessori, Carden Academy, Al Ridah Academy, and Cornerstone Community School. The Capistrano Unified School District maintains public education with highly ranked facilities like Castille Elementary School, Newhart Middle School, and Capistrano Valley High School. This is also the home of Saddleback College and there are several other colleges nearby like the University of California, Irvine.

Residents of the city have access to Lake Mission Viejo and its many outdoor activities like swimming, fishing, boating, and paddle boarding. Movie screenings, fireworks, and concerts are held throughout the summer. The two major shopping centers for this region are the Kaleidoscope Courtyards and The Shops at Mission Viejo where you’ll find theaters, restaurants, stores, and entertainment. In the same vicinity is the Mission Hospital which is the largest medical facility in South Orange County. Freeway access is also convenient.

There are approximately two parks per square mile in this region. Canyon Crest is close to O’Neill Regional Park, the Youth Athletic Park, Flamenco Park, and Melinda Park. It’s always easy to find a picnic spot, playground, or sports field.

Mission Viejo is one of the largest master-planned communities in the nation and as of 2014 had over 96,000 residents. This suburban city is family friendly and mainly residential. It is also known for its beautiful tree-lined streets.
